For decades, Marklin has regularly produced one-time, limited runs of Z-scale items under contract to a wide range of companies. These items might be produced for the companies to sell exclusively in company stores or given as corporate gifts. Although the vast majority of these items are single cars, perhaps the most elaborate item in the history of Z-scale is the customized ICE express train for Siemens with custom printing on the engines.
This train was based on the original Z ICE model, the Marklin 8871. To the best of my research, Siemens released this model in 1994. This set is highly valued by collectors and rarely comes available on the open market. In my 20 years as a Marklin Z collector, I have seen only one set offered on eBay (Germany), although I acquired mine privately from a German collector (who searched for 10 years to find this one, and paid over $3000 for it).
